PMJ Blog recently polled GSPP students, asking which propositions on the upcoming November 6th ballot they thought Californians should know more about. Out of eleven total propositions, participants were asked to select four. We received twenty-eight responses total.

The proposition that most students in our survey think Californians should know more about is Governor Jerry Brown’s initiative Proposition 30: Temporary Taxes to Fund Education. Guaranteed Local Public Safety Funding. Initiative Constitutional Amendment.

Propositions 32 (Political Contributions), 34 (Death Penalty), and 36 (Three Strikes Law) tie for second with twelve votes each.

Proposition 38 (Tax to Fund Education and Early Childhood Programs) is in third place, with eleven votes.

Fourth place goes to Proposition 31 (State Budget) with eight votes.

California Secretary of State Debra Bowen provides information on all of the propositions in our survey on her website. Read all about them and remember to vote on November 6th, Californians!
